Raleigh, N.C. – Residents across the Triangle are waking up to cooler air Friday, with partly sunny skies and highs topping out in the low 80s. Winds from the northeast will remain light, keeping conditions calm and comfortable compared to recent weeks.

According to the National Weather Service in Raleigh, overnight lows will dip into the mid-60s under partly cloudy skies, making for a pleasant evening. Saturday looks to hold steady with more sunshine and highs near 82 degrees, again with only light winds.

By Sunday, however, moisture builds and the risk for scattered showers and thunderstorms increases after 2 p.m. Areas around Raleigh, Cary, and Durham could see a 40% chance of rain with locally heavier downpours possible. Drivers should be alert to slick roads and brief visibility issues during storms.

The new workweek begins with mostly sunny skies Monday and highs in the mid-80s, offering another stretch of dry weather. Conditions will remain seasonably warm through midweek with no major hazards expected after Sunday’s storms.
