Raleigh, NC – Residents across central and eastern North Carolina can expect another crisp fall night as temperatures dip into the 40s and 50s Saturday morning.
According to the National Weather Service in Raleigh, overnight lows are forecast to reach the lower-to-mid-50s for much of the region. However, some rural outlying counties may see temperatures fall into the mid-to-upper 40s, particularly in areas farther north and west.
High clouds moving across the state could prevent conditions from cooling as much as earlier this week. Still, cooler pockets will be noticeable, with forecasts showing 45°F in Roxboro, 47°F in Pittsboro, and 48°F in Greensboro. Larger metro areas including Raleigh (52°F) and Fayetteville (56°F) are expected to stay a bit milder overnight.
The cool trend continues as October settles in, offering residents a preview of seasonal fall weather. No frost advisories are currently in effect, but forecasters note that temperatures will remain cool enough for light jackets during the early morning hours.
Warmer afternoons are expected to balance out the chill, but residents are encouraged to plan ahead for cooler evening events and early travel Saturday morning.
