Raleigh, NC – The Wake County Sheriff’s Office is investigating several roadside brush fires as possible arson after multiple incidents were reported Saturday afternoon along Interstate 540 West.

According to the Wake County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called around 2:45 p.m. on Saturday, October 18, to assist local public safety agencies with several brush fires burning near Glenwood Avenue, Leesville Road, Creedmoor Road, Falls of Neuse Road, and Capital Boulevard.

Authorities said early findings suggest the fires were intentionally set, though the investigation remains active. No injuries or significant property damage have been reported at this time.

Traffic along I-540 was briefly slowed as fire crews and deputies responded to the scattered fires. Officials have not yet released any information about possible suspects or vehicles seen in the area.
