Raleigh, NC – A quiet dawn breaks over the Triangle this Sunday, with cool air clinging to the fields and mist lifting off ponds and backroads. The calm start won’t last long — North Carolina’s weather will turn unsettled again by Monday as another wave of rain moves in from the southwest.

According to the National Weather Service in Raleigh, today brings a pleasant mix of sun and clouds, with highs near 65°F and light northeast breezes. By late tonight, clouds thicken as moisture begins to build, setting up a 30–40% chance of rain Monday afternoon. Expect occasional showers and brief gusts, especially along I-40 and I-95.

Rain becomes more widespread Monday night, with a chance of lingering drizzle Tuesday morning before skies start to break. Tuesday’s highs stay near 58°F, keeping things on the cool side as the system exits eastward.

By Wednesday, North Carolina enjoys a return to mild sunshine — highs in the low 60s, light breezes, and much drier air. That pattern continues into Thursday and Friday, creating excellent conditions for Halloween trick-or-treating — dry, calm, and comfortably cool under partly clear skies.

After all, fall’s rhythm has truly settled in — and a chilly November lies just beyond the horizon.
