Columbus, OH – A flood watch is in effect across parts of Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky from Wednesday evening through Sunday morning, as heavy rainfall and thunderstorms are expected to trigger potential flooding.
According to the National Weather Service, the flood watch spans a wide range of counties, including areas in Ohio like Butler, Hamilton, and Montgomery, as well as counties in Indiana and Kentucky. The region remains vulnerable due to already saturated soils, which may lead to flooding in rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying flood-prone areas.
Excessive rainfall is expected to start Wednesday evening, with thunderstorms developing along a boundary that will linger in the region through Saturday. By Saturday night, the system is expected to move southeast, bringing an end to the heaviest rainfall. The National Weather Service warned that the most significant rainfall will occur during the overnight hours.
Residents in affected areas are urged to monitor weather updates closely, especially those in flood-prone regions, and be prepared to take action if flooding occurs. Local officials advise staying informed and being ready for potential flood warnings throughout the week.
