Cleveland, Ohio – Highs in the upper 80s will make Tuesday the hottest day of the week for much of northern Ohio, but residents should brace for a shift starting Wednesday as thunderstorms and cooler temperatures move in.

According to the National Weather Service Cleveland, showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop Wednesday and Thursday, with rain chances peaking at 85% in many cities by Thursday evening. A cold front pushing through late Thursday into Friday will drop temperatures into the 70s by the weekend.

Cities like Akron, Toledo, and Youngstown could see multiple rounds of rain, with temps falling from highs near 88°F Tuesday to the mid-70s by Friday. Rain chances remain elevated through Friday morning, especially in areas like Mansfield and Elyria, where storm potential sits at 55% or higher for most of Thursday.

Travelers should monitor local alerts and consider delaying trips during periods of heavy rain. Residents are advised to secure outdoor items, prepare for possible power outages, and limit outdoor work during thunderstorms.
