New York, NY – A chilly start to the week will give way to wet and breezy conditions by midweek in New York City. Residents can expect mostly sunny skies and a high of 39 degrees today, but rain showers are set to arrive Wednesday night, disrupting the dry start to the week.

According to the National Weather Service, temperatures will remain cold tonight, dropping to 30 degrees. Winds will shift midweek, with clouds increasing Wednesday and a high near 42 degrees. Showers are likely Wednesday night, with a 70% chance of rain. The rain may persist into early Thursday morning, giving way to mostly clear skies by evening as temperatures peak at 43 degrees. Breezy conditions are also expected Thursday night, with winds increasing as temperatures drop to 32 degrees.

As the week progresses, Friday will bring sunny skies and highs near 35 degrees, maintaining the winter chill. The weekend looks partly sunny on Saturday, with a chance of snow showers Saturday night. Sunday is forecasted to be mostly cloudy with highs near 39 degrees.

With midweek rain expected, commuters are urged to plan for potential wet roads, particularly during evening travel on Wednesday. Pedestrians should bundle up as brisk winds follow Thursday’s showers, lowering wind chill values.
