Philadelphia, PA – A calm and sunny start to the weekend will shift as rain and a wintry mix impact Pennsylvania starting Sunday evening.
According to the National Weather Service, dry conditions are expected through Saturday, with highs near 37 and mostly sunny skies. However, a developing storm system will move into the area Sunday evening, bringing widespread rain to the region. Areas along and north of the I-78 corridor could see a brief wintry mix of snow and ice before temperatures rise and precipitation changes to rain.
Travelers heading out Sunday night, particularly in northern Pennsylvania, should plan for potential icy patches and delays. The wintry mix may create slippery road conditions before temperatures climb overnight into Monday. Highs on Monday will reach the low 50s, with rain continuing into the afternoon.
Drivers are urged to monitor forecasts and adjust travel plans accordingly. While the majority of the precipitation will be rain, even a light accumulation of snow and ice could impact higher elevations or untreated roads.
The system will clear by midweek, but rain will likely linger through Tuesday. Stay prepared for changing weather conditions and drive safely.
