Lubbock, TX — Dense fog and rain are affecting travel across Lubbock today, with visibility reduced to as low as a quarter-mile in some areas. Morning commuters should exercise caution, especially along Highway 114, as the fog is expected to persist until mid-morning. According to the National Weather Service, patchy drizzle is also likely, making roads potentially hazardous.

Conditions are forecast to improve dramatically by Thursday. Partly cloudy skies tonight will pave the way for sunny weather throughout Thursday and Friday, with temperatures reaching 56°F and 64°F, respectively. Winds may increase to 20 mph on Thursday, bringing gusts up to 30 mph in the afternoon.

Residents can expect a warm, sunny weekend with highs approaching 71°F on Saturday. However, fog and light rain remain concerns for the remainder of today. Motorists are advised to keep headlights on and maintain safe distances between vehicles.

The likelihood of hazardous weather is low beyond Wednesday, offering a clear weekend ahead for outdoor plans.
