Milwaukee, WI – A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for southeastern Wisconsin through 6 a.m. Monday, as lake-effect snow continues to impact Milwaukee, Racine, and Kenosha counties, according to the National Weather Service in Milwaukee/Sullivan.

Forecasters report that snow accumulations of 3 to 6 inches are likely in the most persistent bands near Lake Michigan, with locally higher totals possible along the immediate shoreline. The heaviest snowfall is expected overnight before tapering toward sunrise.

Drivers should expect slippery roads and reduced visibility, especially along I-94 and areas east of Highway 45. Winds out of the north at 20 to 30 mph will create additional blowing and drifting snow in open areas.

The Hazardous Weather Outlook notes that the band will gradually move offshore Monday morning as colder, drier air settles into the region. Sunshine will return by afternoon, with highs near 37°F, before a steady warming trend continues through midweek.

Motorists are advised to slow down and use caution, as untreated roads and bridges may remain slick into the early commute hours.
