Paducah, KY – A cold front moving through western Kentucky this evening will bring cooler—but still slightly above normal—temperatures to the Paducah region Sunday and Monday before a much wetter pattern sets in, according to the National Weather Service Paducah office.

According to forecasters, tonight will turn cooler under mostly cloudy skies, with lows ranging from the low 40s to low 50s across the Quad State region. Sunday rebounds into the upper 50s and mid-60s with dry, mild weather holding through the afternoon.

The next major shift arrives Monday as a warm front lifts north. The NWS reports a 20% chance of afternoon showers across southeast Missouri and southern Illinois, with highs between 57 and 63 degrees. By Monday night, moisture increases significantly as the front settles over the region, setting the stage for a wetter and more unsettled pattern.

Tuesday brings the most active weather of the week. Numerous showers and scattered thunderstorms are expected throughout the day, with temperatures climbing dramatically—ranging from the low 60s to upper 70s in parts of western Kentucky and southern Illinois.

The lingering front continues to influence the region Wednesday, with a 40% chance of showers and highs between 63 and 73 degrees. Forecasters say the boundary will remain nearby through the remainder of the week, producing several rounds of precipitation and noticeable temperature swings.

Residents in Paducah, Metropolis, Cape Girardeau, and Carbondale should prepare for changing conditions, periods of heavy rainfall, and potential travel impacts early this week as the wet pattern becomes established.
