According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in the Quad Cities, the advisory covers Bureau, Putnam, Carroll, Henry, Jo Daviess, Stephenson, and Whiteside counties in Illinois until 7 a.m. CDT Thursday. A separate advisory for Rock Island, Mercer, Henderson, and Warren counties in Illinois, as well as several counties in Iowa and Missouri, remains in place until 4 a.m. CDT.

Winds are expected to range between 20 to 30 mph, with occasional gusts reaching 45 mph. The strong winds pose potential hazards, especially for high-profile vehicles traveling on highways. Residents are urged to secure outdoor objects that may be blown away.
