Davenport, IA – A stretch of sunny, dry weather is taking shape across the Quad Cities region this week, with temperatures set to climb steadily heading into the weekend.
According to the National Weather Service Quad Cities office, Wednesday, September 24, will be the coolest day of the week, with highs ranging between 72 and 76 degrees under partly to mostly sunny skies. Overnight lows will fall into the lower 50s.
Forecasters say warmer conditions will return starting Thursday, with highs in the upper 70s. By Friday and into the weekend, temperatures are expected to reach the low to mid-80s, accompanied by abundant sunshine. Lows will remain mild, generally in the lower to mid-50s.
This drier pattern follows recent unsettled conditions and is expected to last through at least Sunday, September 28. The National Weather Service noted the favorable outlook makes for excellent conditions for outdoor activities, from harvest work to fall festivals across eastern Iowa and western Illinois.
Thursday is forecast to reach 75–78 degrees, Friday 79–84, Saturday 81–85, and Sunday 82–86, all with mostly sunny skies.
Residents are encouraged to take advantage of the clear weather, particularly before cooler fall temperatures return next week.
