Quad Cities, IA/IL – Residents across the Quad Cities can expect another stretch of summerlike weather heading into the first weekend of October, with highs pushing into the upper 80s and low 90s.

According to the National Weather Service in the Quad Cities, daytime highs will reach between 87 and 91 degrees Friday and remain near 90 through Saturday. Overnight lows are forecast in the 60s, with mostly clear skies expected.

Sunday will remain warm with highs in the mid-to-upper 80s, but forecasters note that a shift to cooler conditions is on the way. By Sunday night, isolated showers are possible, with lows dropping into the mid-50s in some areas.

The National Weather Service notes that this warm spell is unusual for early October and may be one of the final prolonged stretches of summerlike heat this year. Cooler weather is expected to return early next week, with temperatures trending back closer to seasonal averages.

Residents are advised to take precautions against heat stress, especially during outdoor activities and harvest work, as the combination of warm days and dry conditions continues.
