DAVENPORT, Iowa – Residents in the Quad Cities should prepare for a stretch of summer-like warmth, with temperatures climbing into the 90s by Saturday. Dry conditions and light winds will keep humidity comfortable, but the warming trend will continue straight into the weekend.
According to the National Weather Service in the Quad Cities, highs will reach the mid-80s by Friday, with Saturday expected to be the warmest day, peaking between 85 and 92 degrees. Sunday will stay hot, topping out around 91 degrees, before temperatures ease slightly into early next week. Overnight lows will range from the upper 50s to upper 60s, offering only modest relief from the daytime heat.
The warm, dry pattern will impact travel and outdoor events, especially Saturday afternoon when heat may become more noticeable for those without shade. Health officials recommend drinking plenty of water, wearing light clothing, and limiting strenuous outdoor activity during the peak afternoon hours. Farmers and gardeners should also monitor soil conditions, as rainfall will be limited through the weekend.
The National Weather Service says the warm streak is likely to continue into early next week, with little chance of rain in the forecast.
