Davenport, IA – After a stretch of warm, breezy weather, a cold front is on the way to the Quad Cities region, bringing the potential for rain and a sharp temperature drop by the end of the weekend.
According to the US National Weather Service Quad Cities, isolated showers may linger in northern areas today, but most locations will stay dry with highs near 70°F north to around 80°F south. Friday will be breezy and warm, with highs in the upper 70s to low 80s before rain and thunderstorms develop Friday night as the cold front moves through.
That system will bring occasional rain Saturday, followed by a much cooler and breezy Sunday, with highs dropping into the low 60s. Forecasters say the rain should taper off early Sunday before milder weather returns Monday.
Residents planning weekend events are encouraged to stay weather-aware, particularly Friday evening when storms could be locally heavy.
