Quad Cities, IA/IL – Residents in the Quad Cities will enjoy one more stretch of mild, dry weather through Tuesday before a sharp change midweek brings rain and much cooler air.

According to the National Weather Service in the Quad Cities, highs Monday will range from the upper 70s to near 80 under partly sunny skies. Tuesday will stay warm, topping out in the low 80s, but a strong cold front is set to arrive Wednesday. The system will bring a 50–70% chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms, with afternoon highs ranging from the upper 60s in eastern Iowa to the upper 70s in western Illinois.

Travelers along I-80 and I-74 may encounter slick roads and reduced visibility during Wednesday’s rain. Outdoor events and after-school activities could be disrupted as storms roll through the region. Residents are advised to keep phones charged and prepare for a quick temperature drop once the front passes.

By Thursday, highs will only reach the lower to mid-60s with a cool breeze, making it feel more like early fall. The weather service says more advisories could be issued if Wednesday’s storm potential increases.
