Quad Cities, Iowa/Illinois – Drivers across the Quad Cities may run into patchy fog early Friday morning before a cooler, less humid weekend arrives. Temperatures will remain seasonal through Friday, reaching the low to mid-80s before a cold front pushes through late in the day.
According to the National Weather Service in the Quad Cities, showers and storms are possible Friday night into early Saturday, with a 20 to 40 percent chance of rain. Severe weather is not expected, but light rain may briefly impact travel or evening outdoor events.
By Saturday, skies will clear and humidity will drop, leaving comfortable highs in the 70s and 80s across eastern Iowa and western Illinois. Sunday looks even cooler, with highs only in the upper 60s to mid-70s, perfect for outdoor activities, festivals, or yardwork.
Travelers should allow extra time during the early morning hours Friday due to limited visibility from fog, especially on rural roads and near rivers.
Cooler conditions will continue into next week, with little sign of oppressive heat returning soon.
