Davenport, Iowa – Thunderstorms will threaten the Quad Cities region through Wednesday, with the highest rain chances—up to 80%—expected on Tuesday and Wednesday, potentially disrupting commutes and outdoor plans.

According to the National Weather Service Quad Cities, scattered storms are possible Monday night and will intensify by Tuesday afternoon, continuing through Wednesday. Rainfall could be locally heavy, particularly along major roadways like I-80 and Highway 61. High temperatures will remain in the mid-to-upper 80s, with overnight lows in the mid-60s.

In Davenport and Moline, residents should prepare for lightning, brief downpours, and gusty winds starting Tuesday afternoon. Wednesday may bring widespread thunderstorms across Muscatine, Bettendorf, and Galesburg. Travel delays and brief power outages are possible.

Residents are advised to avoid outdoor activities during peak storm hours, charge mobile devices in advance, and monitor local alerts. Tuesday and Wednesday are expected to be the stormiest days of the week, with mostly dry, sunny conditions returning by Thursday.

Storm chances may return Friday morning, particularly along Highway 20.
