Quad Cities, IA/IL – The National Weather Service (NWS) Quad Cities says residents can expect damp and gloomy weather through tonight, with areas of fog and occasional light rain or drizzle.

Temperatures will stay mild in the upper 40s to low 50s, but a strong cold front moving through Tuesday night will change things quickly. The front will bring gusty northwest winds up to 40 mph, followed by much colder air for the middle and end of the week.

Highs will drop into the 30s by Wednesday and Thursday, marking a sharp shift to below-normal temperatures just in time for Thanksgiving. Forecasters also note that light snow could develop by Friday night into Saturday, with a 30–50% chance of accumulation.

Motorists should expect reduced visibility in fog today and breezy, colder conditions later this week.
