Davenport, Iowa – Triple-digit heat index values will grip the Quad Cities through Tuesday, with temperatures soaring into the 90s and humidity making it feel as hot as 105°F. Monday and Tuesday could bring brief morning storms, but the dangerous heat will likely persist into the afternoon.
According to the National Weather Service in the Quad Cities, heat and humidity will remain high through Tuesday, with the worst heat expected during the late afternoon and evening hours. A Heat Index between 95°F and 105°F will make outdoor activities risky, especially for vulnerable groups. Monday carries a 20–30% chance of morning storms, while Tuesday’s chances rise slightly.
Cities including Davenport, Moline, Bettendorf, and Rock Island should limit outdoor work and hydrate frequently. Drivers are urged to check their vehicles for overheating and never leave children or pets in parked cars. Those without air conditioning should seek cooling centers or shaded public spaces.
Relief arrives Wednesday as highs dip into the 70s and low 80s with a 40–60% chance of rain. Cooler, less humid conditions are expected to stick around midweek. Additional advisories may be issued if storm threats increase.
