DAVENPORT, Iowa – A calm and seasonably cool stretch of fall weather will continue across the Quad Cities through the weekend, with mild days, cool nights, and a weak cold front bringing slightly lower temperatures by Saturday.

According to the National Weather Service in the Quad Cities, tonight will feature passing clouds and lows in the mid-30s, followed by another dry and partly sunny day Thursday. Afternoon highs will reach the mid-50s with a light west breeze. A dry frontal system will cross the area Friday, shifting winds northwesterly and ushering in cooler air for Saturday.

Despite the front, no rain is expected, and skies will remain partly sunny into the weekend. Saturday will bring the coolest readings of the period, with highs around 50 degrees and brisk northwest winds. Overnight lows will dip toward freezing in outlying rural areas, especially north of I-80 and along the Wapsipinicon River Valley.

Forecasters say the quiet, dry pattern will persist into early next week, offering excellent conditions for late harvest operations and outdoor events. Residents should prepare for chilly mornings but expect abundant sunshine each afternoon.
