Quad Cities Weather Alert: Temps Drop to 30s Tonight After Cool, Dry Friday

Davenport, Iowa – A brief break from rain today will give way to chilly overnight conditions, with temperatures dropping into the 30s and raising concerns for those heading out early Saturday.

According to the National Weather Service in the Quad Cities, dry conditions and seasonably cool temperatures will hold through Friday, with highs ranging from the low 50s north to low 60s south. However, temperatures will fall quickly tonight under clearer skies, dipping into the 30s across much of eastern Iowa and western Illinois.

Cities including Davenport, Moline, and Rock Island will see calm and dry weather today, but the colder রাত ahead could impact early plans, especially for those without adequate heating or outdoor protection.

Rain chances return Saturday, with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms possible, especially north of I-80 where coverage could reach 20 to 60 percent become more active Sunday as winds increase from the south at 15 to 25 mph, with gusts up to 35 mph and additional rounds of showers and storms developing in the afternoon and evening.

While severe weather is not expected, changing conditions could impact travel and outdoor activities through the weekend. Residents should prepare for cooler air followed by a breezy and unsettled temps to the weekend.
