Davenport, IA – Morning showers will dissipate across the Quad Cities region today, giving way to mostly sunny skies by the afternoon, according to the National Weather Service in the Quad Cities.
Forecasters say light rain will taper off from north to south through mid-morning, followed by breezy northeast winds gusting up to 35 mph, especially south of Interstate 80. Highs will reach the mid to upper 50s under clearing skies.
From Thursday through the weekend, the area will enjoy a quiet and mild stretch of weather. Expect partly sunny conditions each day with highs ranging from low 50s to upper 50s, and overnight lows dipping into the 30s.
The NWS notes that this pattern will hold steady into Halloween Friday, with dry, seasonal weather continuing into early next week — a welcome break from recent rain systems.
Residents are advised to secure lightweight outdoor items due to gusty winds today, especially in open and rural areas.
