Davenport, IA – Drivers in far southern areas near the Missouri border may encounter slushy roads early this morning as light snow wraps up, while the rest of the Quad Cities region stays cool and dry.

According to the National Weather Service in the Quad Cities, wet snow will taper off by mid-morning, mainly impacting northeast Missouri and far southern counties, with minor slushy accumulation possible before 9 a.m. Elsewhere, skies will vary between sun and clouds, with highs reaching the mid to upper 40s.

Road conditions may briefly be slick in areas south of Burlington and along highways connecting into Missouri, though impacts remain limited and improve quickly after sunrise.

Tonight, light rain showers may develop across eastern Iowa, keeping roads damp into early Wednesday. Conditions shift more dramatically by Wednesday afternoon as temperatures surge into the mid-60s to near 70°F, accompanied by strong southwest winds of 30 to 40 mph. Travel on I-80, I-74, and open rural roads could be impacted by gusty crosswinds.

A more widespread round of rain moves in Wednesday night through Thursday night, bringing a return to wet conditions across the entire region. Additional advisories may be issued as this system develops.
