Davenport, IA – The National Weather Service in the Quad Cities is forecasting an active weather pattern through the weekend, featuring warm, breezy conditions today followed by rain tonight — and the season’s first chance of light snow late Saturday.
Forecasters say highs Thursday will reach the upper 50s to low 60s under partly cloudy skies, with gusty south winds up to 25 mph. Rain chances increase tonight, with a 50% to 70% likelihood of showers and a rumble of thunder possible. Overnight lows will hold in the upper 40s to low 50s.
Friday will bring another mild and breezy day, with highs in the low to mid-60s before temperatures drop sharply over the weekend. “Above normal temperatures continue through Friday before a much cooler weekend,” meteorologists said in Thursday’s update.
By late Saturday, colder air will move in behind a passing front, bringing the first light snow of the season north of Highway 30. Only a dusting is expected at this time, but travel impacts could be possible in rural and elevated areas.
Residents are encouraged to monitor updated forecasts heading into Saturday night as temperatures plunge into the 20s and 30s.
