DAVENPORT, Iowa – A brief shower or thunderstorm this evening will give way to several days of quieter, drier weather across the Quad Cities region. Temperatures through Thursday will stay in the upper 70s to low 80s, offering a comfortable break from summer’s recent humidity.

According to the National Weather Service in the Quad Cities, skies will remain mostly sunny Wednesday and Thursday, with lows dipping into the upper 50s in outlying areas. Humidity will stay low until Friday, when warmer air begins moving back into eastern Iowa and western Illinois.

Friday’s highs are expected to reach the mid- to upper 80s, with humidity climbing by nightfall. By Saturday, temperatures will push into the upper 80s to mid-90s, and the heat index could climb as high as 105. That heat will be paired with storm chances late in the weekend and early next week, particularly during the evening hours.

Residents are urged to stay hydrated and limit strenuous outdoor activity during peak heat this weekend. Additional weather advisories could be issued if storms intensify.
