Quad Cities, IA/IL – The US National Weather Service has issued warnings for strong to severe thunderstorms in the Quad Cities area later today. Residents should prepare for wind, hail, and potential flash flooding.

According to the National Weather Service Quad Cities, scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop ahead of a cold front. The main threats are high winds and large hail. Confidence in severe weather remains low but residents should remain vigilant.

This evening, showers will give way to a beautiful weekend with temperatures trending near normal. Saturday will see decreasing morning showers and clouds, with highs reaching 89°F. Sunday will be sunny and mild, with temperatures ranging from 59°F to 78°F.

The extended forecast shows improving weather conditions. Saturday will see a high near 89°F and decreasing morning showers. Sunday will be sunny with temperatures between 59°F and 78°F. Monday will be mostly sunny with highs near 78°F and lows around 55°F. Tuesday has a 45% chance of showers, with highs around 66°F and lows near 90°F. Wednesday will be partly cloudy with highs near 85°F and lows around 69°F. Thursday brings a 35% chance of showers with highs around 82°F and lows near 65°F. Friday has a 55% chance of showers with highs near 80°F and lows around 63°F. Saturday will be sunny with highs around 71°F and lows near 58°F.
