Quad Cities, IA/IL – Pleasant weather will continue in the Quad Cities today and Wednesday, offering mostly sunny skies and temperatures in the mid-70s to low 80s. However, a significant warm-up is expected as temperatures rise to the low 80s by Wednesday, providing a brief respite before a cold front moves in on Thursday.
According to the National Weather Service in the Quad Cities, this cold front will bring a 30% to 60% chance of showers and thunderstorms Thursday afternoon and evening. Residents should prepare for potential rain and minor flooding in low-lying areas. Cooler weather will follow, with highs only reaching the upper 60s to low 70s by Friday, marking the beginning of a fall-like trend.
Looking ahead to next week, the first half of September 8-12 is expected to bring near-normal temperatures, with highs in the 70s and lows dipping into the 50s. The National Weather Service also predicts drier-than-average conditions, so it’s an excellent time to wrap up any outdoor activities before the cooler fall weather settles in.
