Quad Cities, IL/IA – Today, residents in the Quad Cities area can expect seasonably cool temperatures with occasional showers and isolated thunderstorms, particularly south of Interstate 80.

According to the National Weather Service Quad Cities, the region will see mid to upper 60s during the day with a northeast wind blowing at 15-25 mph. The highest rain coverage is anticipated south of I-80, where isolated thunderstorms may bring heavy downpours.

These conditions could result in over an inch of localized rainfall, leading to potential ponding on roads and rises in area rivers. Tonight, the weather will shift as clouds and winds decrease, setting the stage for a warmer and dry Wednesday.
