Quad Cities, IA/IL – Residents across the Quad Cities can expect summerlike conditions to linger most of the workweek before cooler, wetter weather arrives by Friday.

According to the National Weather Service in the Quad Cities, skies will remain mostly clear and dry through Thursday, with daytime highs ranging from the mid-80s to low 90s. Overnight lows are forecast between the upper 50s and mid-60s.

Tuesday and Wednesday will bring plenty of sunshine and unseasonably warm temperatures. By Thursday, some clouds are expected to develop ahead of a strong cold front that will sweep across eastern Iowa and western Illinois late Thursday into Friday.

Forecasters say Friday carries the best chance for rain, with scattered showers and storms likely as the front moves through. Temperatures are also expected to drop into the mid to upper 70s by the end of the week, marking a noticeable shift from the earlier heat.

The cooler pattern will continue into the weekend, bringing relief after several days of near-90-degree weather.

Residents are encouraged to monitor local forecasts, especially for Friday travel and outdoor plans.
