Quad Cities, IA/IL – Residents across eastern Iowa and northwestern Illinois should prepare for scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms this weekend, with conditions staying warm and humid.
According to the National Weather Service Quad Cities, Saturday’s storm chances are highest south of Highway 30, with scattered rainfall possible during the day and additional showers developing into the night. Temperatures will remain seasonable, reaching the low to mid-70s in Iowa and Missouri, and mid to upper-70s in Illinois.
Sunday brings a slightly lower risk, with only a slight chance of afternoon storms across the region. Highs will climb into the upper 70s to near 80 degrees, while overnight lows dip into the upper 50s and low 60s.
By Monday, forecasters say another round of scattered showers and storms may develop. Highs will stay in the upper 70s to low 80s, with nighttime lows in the 50s to 60s. While no widespread severe weather is expected, isolated thunderstorms could bring brief heavy rain and lightning.
Forecasters emphasize that many dry hours are expected throughout the weekend, but residents should stay weather-aware, especially during the afternoons and evenings when storms are most likely.
