Pueblo, CO – A cool and unsettled pattern continues across southern Colorado today and Friday, with rain spreading over the plains and snow showers developing in the mountains, according to the National Weather Service in Pueblo.
A passing weather system will bring moisture and cooler air to much of the state through Friday, keeping highs in the 50s and 60s across lower elevations and 40s to low 50s in the mountains. Stronger storms may develop in the southern plains near Trinidad and Walsenburg, where isolated thunderstorms are possible.
Snow is expected at higher elevations, particularly near Wolf Creek Pass, Leadville, and the Sangre de Cristo Range, where light accumulations may occur. The system will exit late Friday, followed by gradual warming over the weekend with highs returning to the 60s and low 70s.
Drivers traveling through mountain passes should be alert for slick conditions tonight and early Friday, while those in the plains can expect scattered rain showers and cooler fall air.
