down, with more record-breaking temperatures expected through Saturday.
According to the National Weather Service in Pueblo, highs on Friday and Saturday are forecast to climb well into the 80s and 90s across the region. In Pueblo, temperatures could reach the upper 80s Friday and soar into the mid-90s Saturday—potentially breaking longstanding daily and even monthly records.
Colorado Springs is also expected to challenge records, with highs in the low to mid-80s, while Alamosa could see temperatures push into the upper 70s and low 80s.
This level of heat is highly unusual for March, running 20 to 30 degrees above average in many locations.
Officials urge residents to take precautions if spending time outdoors, including staying hydrated, taking breaks in shaded or cool areas, and avoiding strenuous activity during peak afternoon heat.
The heat is also contributing to dangerous fire weather conditions across the region, especially when combined with gusty winds and very low humidity.
