Pueblo, CO – A 30-year-old Denver man was arrested early Monday after allegedly meeting with and sexually assaulting a 16-year-old Pueblo girl he met through the social media app Snapchat, according to the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies on routine patrol in Pueblo West discovered two vehicles parked at Liberty Point around 3:30 a.m. Monday. While speaking with the occupants, deputies learned one of the females, a 16-year-old, had arranged to meet the man, identified as Alfredo Antonio-Diego, through Snapchat on Sunday night.

According to investigators, the girl admitted she left home without parental consent and met Antonio-Diego, who drove her to several locations before taking her to an apartment, where they allegedly had sex. The teen later told deputies she consumed alcohol provided by Antonio-Diego before returning to Liberty Point, where she appeared visibly intoxicated.

Deputies attempted to question Antonio-Diego, but he refused to cooperate. He was arrested on charges including felony sexual assault, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, driving under the influence, and operating without insurance. Authorities said Antonio-Diego has two prior DUI arrests. His vehicle was seized, and he was booked into the Pueblo County Jail.

The Sheriff’s Office reminded parents to speak with children about online dangers, supervise internet use, and monitor apps that allow direct messaging. Officials also urged families to report suspected online enticement or exploitation immediately to law enforcement.

The investigation is ongoing.
