Pueblo, CO – Warm weather in southern Colorado will give way to colder air and intermittent snow beginning Friday night, potentially disrupting post-Thanksgiving travel through early next week.
According to the National Weather Service in Pueblo, light snow is expected between Friday night and Monday, with the Central Mountains, Palmer Divide, and I-25 corridor seeing the most impact. Accumulations will generally stay under 2 inches for lower elevations, but even light snow could create slick travel conditions along I-25, US-50, and Highway 160, especially overnight.
Cities like Colorado Springs, Pueblo, Trinidad, and La Junta will experience a sharp drop in temperatures, with daytime highs in the 30s and overnight lows dipping into the teens and 20s through Sunday. Snow chances will be highest late Friday into early Saturday, then again from Sunday into Monday morning.
If you plan to travel across southern or central Colorado this weekend, allow extra time and check cotrip.org for the latest road conditions.
Snow chances taper by Monday afternoon, but colder air lingers into midweek.
