PUEBLO, CO — Sunshine and calm winds will make for a pleasant late November day across southern Colorado, but forecasters warn that a big pattern shift is on the way as the weekend approaches. The National Weather Service in Pueblo says that while Thanksgiving Day stays dry and mild, a cold front and mountain snow system will move in Saturday, bringing a sharp drop in temperatures.
Today’s highs will range from 46 to 56°F on the plains and near 50°F in the valleys, with bright skies and only thin clouds drifting overhead. Winds will stay light, giving southern Colorado one of the calmest days in weeks. For those traveling along I-25 or working outdoors, it’s an ideal day to enjoy the sunshine before winter’s edge arrives.
By late Friday into Saturday, a colder air mass slides southward, delivering mountain snow and much cooler conditions statewide. Areas like Leadville, Monarch Pass, and Wolf Creek could see 2 to 5 inches of new snow, with temperatures in the 30s. Across the plains, snow chances remain limited but not zero — light flurries or sprinkles could mix in around Pueblo and Colorado Springs if moisture holds.
Sunday and Monday will stay cool and breezy, with highs in the 30s and 40s and lows dipping into the teens and 20s — a true December weather preview.
