Pueblo, CO – Temperatures across southern Colorado are expected to rise sharply beginning Wednesday, with a widespread warm-up lasting through the weekend, according to the National Weather Service in Pueblo.

Meteorologists say highs will climb into the upper 70s and low 80s across much of the region by midweek, with Pueblo forecast to reach near 82°F. Cooler conditions will persist in mountain areas, where temperatures will stay in the 60s.

According to the forecast, the warmth will linger through the weekend, but increasing moisture late in the week is expected to bring wet conditions—particularly to the San Juan Mountains. Forecasters note that showers and possible thunderstorms could develop Friday and continue through Sunday, especially at higher elevations.

The NWS warns that while the plains will stay mostly dry, mountain travelers should prepare for slick roads and reduced visibility in heavier rain.

Residents are encouraged to stay updated on local forecasts as the pattern shifts toward wetter weather late this week.
