PUEBLO, Colo. – Southern Colorado will stay mostly dry and calm through the end of the week, with only modest temperature swings and breezy periods likely to elevate fire danger along the I-25 corridor. Highs will range from the upper 60s to mid-70s across the plains before cooler air slides in Friday.
According to the National Weather Service in Pueblo, Wednesday remains sunny with light winds and highs around 65°F. A weak disturbance crossing the central Rockies will increase west winds Thursday, creating near-critical fire weather conditions from Colorado Springs south to Trinidad. Afternoon humidity may drop into the teens, making burning or outdoor sparks risky.
Mountain valleys and higher peaks will see similar dry weather, with highs in the 50s to lower 60s and chilly overnight lows in the 20s. No precipitation is expected through Friday, and skies will stay mostly clear under strong fall sunshine.
Travel conditions will be ideal across southern Colorado highways, including U.S. 50 and I-25, though drivers should remain alert for blowing dust and gusty crosswinds on exposed stretches. Cooler temperatures are expected by the weekend, with highs dipping into the upper 50s by Saturday.
