Pueblo, Colorado – Unseasonably warm and dry weather will continue across southern Colorado today, with temperatures climbing well above normal for early February.

According to the U.S. National Weather Service in Pueblo, daytime highs this afternoon are expected to reach 15 to 20 degrees warmer than average. The warmer-than-normal pattern is forecast to persist through Monday before cooler air arrives midweek.

High temperatures today are expected to reach the 60s across much of the lower elevations, including Pueblo, Colorado Springs, Cañon City, and La Junta. Mountain valleys will also see milder conditions, while higher terrain remains cooler. Communities along major travel corridors such as Interstate 25, U.S. Highway 50, U.S. Highway 287, and surrounding state highways will experience similar warm and dry conditions.

The National Weather Service notes that dry weather will dominate the forecast through the weekend and into early next week, limiting any precipitation concerns. The warm temperatures may feel more like spring than winter, especially during the afternoon hours.

By midweek, a shift in the weather pattern is expected to bring cooler temperatures back to the region. Along with the cooldown, chances for snow may return to the high country, though no significant impacts were detailed in the early update.

For commuters, outdoor workers, and students, the warm weather supports travel and outdoor activity, but officials caution that dry conditions can still elevate grass fire concerns in some areas, particularly during breezy periods.

Drivers traveling along I-25 and other regional highways should remain aware of changing conditions later in the week as temperatures trend downward again.

Residents are encouraged to enjoy the mild conditions while continuing to monitor forecasts for updates on the midweek cooldown and potential mountain snow.
