Pueblo, CO – Drivers across southern Colorado should watch for patchy fog and black ice this morning, especially in the San Luis Valley and Lower Arkansas River Valley, according to the National Weather Service in Pueblo.
While most areas east of the mountains will stay cool and mostly dry over the next several days, heavy snow and blowing snow are expected across the central mountains, where Winter Storm Warnings remain in effect through Sunday morning. Totals could exceed a foot of snow in higher elevations, creating hazardous travel in passes such as Monarch and Cottonwood.
Daytime highs across the region will generally range from the 30s to low 50s, running slightly cooler than normal. Partly cloudy skies will persist into early next week, with no major precipitation expected for the plains.
Residents traveling into the mountains are urged to check road conditions, allow extra travel time, and carry winter gear in their vehicles.
