Pueblo, Colorado – A cold front moving south from northern Colorado this afternoon will bring slightly cooler temperatures and a chance for scattered showers, mainly near elevated terrain along the Interstate 25 corridor.
According to the National Weather Service office in Pueblo, today will start off relatively mild before the front arrives during the afternoon hours. High temperatures are expected to be a bit cooler compared to recent days, especially across southern Colorado communities including Pueblo, Colorado Springs, and Trinidad.
Scattered showers will be possible this afternoon and into the evening, with the highest chances over higher elevations and areas near I-25. Any precipitation is expected to be light and spotty, with no widespread impacts anticipated. Lower elevations and the eastern plains are expected to see limited precipitation activity.
Roadways including Interstate 25, US-50, US-160, and nearby mountain routes could experience brief wet conditions if showers develop nearby. However, the National Weather Service notes that impacts should remain minimal, and no winter weather hazards are expected with this system.
Temperatures cool slightly tonight behind the front, but conditions improve Wednesday as drier air moves back into the region. Wednesday is forecast to be cooler and dry, followed by a warming trend heading into the weekend as high pressure builds over the area.
Forecasters indicate that warmer and drier conditions are expected later this week, providing improved travel and outdoor conditions across southern Colorado. No advisories or warnings are currently in effect.
This weather pattern may be most noticeable for afternoon commuters and drivers traveling along the I-25 corridor near higher terrain. Motorists are encouraged to remain alert for brief changes in weather conditions and to monitor updates from the National Weather Service for the latest forecast information.
