Pueblo, CO – A round of snow showers and freezing temperatures will impact Pueblo and surrounding areas through Wednesday night, making travel hazardous along I-25 and higher elevations. Drivers should prepare for slick roads and reduced visibility, especially during morning and evening commutes.
According to the National Weather Service, light snow is expected Monday night into Tuesday, with less than two inches of accumulation near the I-25 corridor and the Continental Divide. However, a stronger system will bring 2 to 4 inches of snowfall Tuesday night through Wednesday, with higher totals in the mountains.
Wind chills will drop near zero by early Wednesday, and overnight lows could reach single digits across the region. Gusty winds may create blowing snow conditions, particularly over mountain passes, the Palmer Divide, and the Raton Mesa.
Temperatures will remain below normal through Thursday before a slight warm-up heading into the weekend. Residents should dress in layers, check road conditions before traveling, and allow extra time for commutes.
