Pueblo, CO – The National Weather Service in Pueblo reports warm and windy conditions across much of southern and central Colorado today, with a few areas in the mountains facing more hazardous weather.

According to forecasters, wind gusts up to 60 mph are expected across the central mountains, particularly near Monarch Pass and surrounding high elevations. These strong winds could create light, wind-driven snow, leading to periods of reduced visibility and slick travel conditions.

Elsewhere across southern Colorado, temperatures are forecast to be warmer than normal, reaching the 40s to upper 50s across the plains and lower elevations. The strongest gusts will occur over and near the mountain passes, where travel may become challenging for high-profile vehicles.

Drivers heading through U.S. Highway 50 near Monarch Pass and nearby routes are urged to use caution, especially during the afternoon and evening hours when wind speeds are expected to peak.

Conditions are expected to gradually ease late tonight as winds weaken.
