Pueblo, CO – A major SWAT operation in Pueblo County led to eight arrests Thursday morning as detectives executed search warrants tied to a non-fatal shooting investigation dating back to late September.

According to the Pueblo Police Department, the case began September 28 when a man arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound. That incident was linked to a ShotSpotter alert in the 1000 block of W. 18th Street. A second ShotSpotter alert occurred in the same block on November 13, prompting detectives in the Special Investigation Division to pursue an arrest warrant for 46-year-old Andrew Fuentes, who allegedly played a role in both incidents.

Fuentes—described by police as a known gang member and FBI Safe Streets criminal—was wanted on allegations of first-degree assault, illegal discharge of a firearm, and possession of a weapon by a previous offender. Detectives also secured search warrants for two locations Fuentes allegedly frequented: the 1000 block of W. 18th Street and the 2400 block of W. 23rd Street.

The Pueblo Police Department SWAT team, Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office SWAT, and identification detectives served those warrants around 7:50 a.m. on November 20. Fuentes was located and arrested without reported injuries. Police say five firearms were recovered during the operation.

Seven additional individuals were arrested on various warrants and allegations, including failures to appear, theft, contempt of court, driving under restraint, and alleged possession of controlled substances. Those arrested were identified as Alonzo Quintana, Adrianna De Herrera, Jessica Bertaud, Samuel Lopez, Demetri Aranda, Miranda Quintana, and Chantell Deluna.

Authorities note that details remain preliminary as evidence continues to be reviewed.
