Pueblo, Colorado — A noticeable shift in weather is expected in Pueblo as a cold front moves through southern Colorado tonight, bringing much colder and windier conditions for Friday.

According to the National Weather Service in Pueblo, parts of southern Colorado will see milder and breezy conditions today, with Pueblo-area highs reaching the upper 40s to low 50s. Winds will remain manageable during the day before increasing late tonight behind the front.

By Friday, temperatures will drop sharply, with afternoon highs in Pueblo only reaching the upper 30s to low 40s. At the same time, stronger northwest winds will develop, pushing wind chill values down into the teens and single digits, even during the afternoon hours.

Forecasters note that the cold air will persist into Friday night and Saturday, extending the period of uncomfortable and potentially hazardous cold for anyone outdoors. While no significant snowfall is highlighted with this front, the combination of cold and wind will be the primary impact.

Residents are advised to dress in layers, limit prolonged outdoor exposure, and secure loose outdoor items ahead of increasing winds. Drivers of high-profile vehicles should be prepared for gusty conditions, especially during the day Friday.

Conditions gradually improve later in the weekend, but Friday will mark the coldest and windiest period of this short-term forecast.

This update is especially relevant for daytime commuters, outdoor workers, construction crews, and students, as the coldest wind chills will occur during active daytime hours.
