Pueblo, Colorado – A wet stretch of weather has hit southern Colorado, with widespread rainfall impacting the region since Monday morning. Pueblo, in particular, broke a daily precipitation record on Tuesday, registering 1.37 inches of liquid precipitation, a significant amount for the area.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Pueblo, the rain has been persistent across much of the region, and the wet conditions are expected to continue into Wednesday. In addition to Pueblo’s record-setting rain, other areas like Colorado Springs and Walsenburg have experienced moderate rainfall, while southern and eastern parts of the state have seen lighter showers.
The heaviest rain has fallen across parts of Pueblo County and into the Arkansas Valley, with some areas recording between 1.5 and 3 inches. The NWS advises residents to remain cautious on the roads, as localized flooding and slick conditions could cause travel disruptions, particularly along highways like U.S. 50 and I-25.
Those in the region should also prepare for potential continued rainfall into the middle of the week. Keep an eye on updated forecasts, as additional rain is likely to add to the totals by Wednesday evening.
