Pueblo, Colorado – Gusty winds up to 60 mph and hail approaching one inch in diameter could hit parts of eastern Colorado this evening, with the strongest potential stretching along and east of the I-25 corridor through 10 p.m.

According to the National Weather Service in Pueblo, while the overall chance of storm development remains low—around 20%—a few strong thunderstorms may still form between 4 and 10 p.m. Tuesday. Areas most at risk include Pueblo, El Paso, Crowley, Otero, and Kiowa counties, where conditions may briefly intensify.

If storms do materialize, they could bring brief but dangerous conditions, including localized lightning, wind damage, and small hail. The affected zone includes major travel routes like I-25 and Highway 50, where sudden weather changes may reduce visibility and impact driving safety.

Residents are advised to stay weather-aware throughout the afternoon and evening. Keep phones charged and notifications enabled in case warnings are issued. Outdoor plans, especially east of the Front Range, should be reconsidered or moved indoors.

Though confidence remains low, NWS officials urge caution due to the potential severity of isolated storms. Another update is expected if conditions shift or new warnings are issued.
