Charlottetown, PE – Snowfall continues across Prince Edward Island as light snow and flurries move through Charlottetown Thursday morning, with up to 5 centimetres expected by midday.
According to Environment Canada, snow is forecast to taper off near noon, followed by cloudy skies with a 60 percent chance of rain showers or flurries through the afternoon. Winds from the east-northeast will reach up to 15 km/h, and temperatures will hover around 0.3°C, with 100 percent humidity and visibility reduced to 1.6 km at Charlottetown Airport.
Overnight, flurries will resume after midnight, with another 2 cm of accumulation expected. Wind chills may reach -6°C as temperatures drop to -2°C. Friday will bring a mix of sun and cloud with a 30 percent chance of late-afternoon showers. Daytime highs could reach 5°C, but wind chills in the morning may feel closer to -5°C.
Residents are advised to exercise caution on roads, as slushy conditions and reduced visibility may impact commutes. Snow tires and slower driving speeds are recommended. While no weather alerts are currently in effect, changing conditions could affect travel through Friday morning across PEI.
