Portland, Oregon – A summer heat streak is settling into Portland this week, with temperatures expected to climb near 90°F by Wednesday and little relief in sight through the weekend.
According to the National Weather Service, the Portland metro area will remain dry and sunny through at least Monday, July 28. Highs will peak near 90°F on Wednesday, with slightly cooler but still warm days in the mid-80s Thursday and Friday. Overnight lows will stay mild, ranging from the upper 50s to low 60s.
Light winds and clear skies are expected across Multnomah, Washington, and Clackamas counties. Commuters and outdoor workers should prepare for increased sun exposure and stay hydrated. With no measurable rainfall in the forecast, wildfire risk will gradually increase, particularly in areas east of I-205 and near the Columbia Gorge.
This stretch of uninterrupted sun marks one of Portland’s longest dry periods so far this summer, reminiscent of July 2021’s heat wave—though temperatures are not expected to reach triple digits this time.
The dry spell is forecast to last through at least Monday, with updated guidance expected later this week.
